GAME PREVIEW

The San Diego Seals look for revenge on Saturday night as the Vancouver Warriors head to Pechanga Arena San Diego for the series finale at 7:00 PM PST.

“Vancouver has proven to be a solid team,” said general manager and head coach Patrick Merrill. “They taught us a lesson and showed us how good they are a couple of weeks ago. We know we are going to have our hands full in this deciding game of our season series with them.”

The Seals and the Warriors are tied 1-1 in the season series with each team getting a win on the road. The Seals look to win the season series on Saturday night in front of the home crowd.

“We are looking to bounce back after two straight losses,” Merrill continued. “We need to get back above .500 at the halfway point of the season and there’s no better place to get it done than at home in front of our fans.”

Defenseman Garrett McIntosh has scored three points and caused one turnover against Vancouver this season. McIntosh and the rest of the team are eager to get back in the win column this weekend.

“We need to bring our best game if we want to win,” said McIntosh. “They are a good team and a divisional rival. They’re a team we love getting ready for. You can feel the excitement throughout the team this week and we have been preparing as if it was a playoff game.”

Forward Austin Staats continues to lead all rookies in points, goals, power play goals, power play assists and shots. Goaltender Frank Scigliano ranks in the top-five among goalies in save percentage and saves, while the Seals currently sit in second place in the West Division.

You can see your San Diego Seals in action on Saturday at 7:00 PM PST at Pechanga Arena San Diego. Coronado Brewing Co. will offer $3 cans of their Orange Ave. Wit to fans until the end of halftime. Reserve your seats now at SealsLax.com.

Saturday’s game will be broadcast live in English on Fox 5 San Diego and in Spanish on Síntesis TV.
