Game Preview: FireWolves vs Seals

The San Diego Seals welcome the Albany FireWolves to Pechanga Arena San Diego on Saturday night at 7:00pm for the first matchup of the season versus an East Division opponent. San Diego currently boasts a franchise-record six game win streak with hopes to extend the lead this weekend.

The Seals hot streak can be credited to a full team effort. With solid goaltending week-to-week, Frank Scigliano currently leads the league in goals against average (7.40) and ranks in the top five in save percentage. On the offensive side, Wesley Berg leads the team with 37 points, Dane Dobbie leads the team with 21 goals and Jeremy Noble leads the team with 29 assists. Defensively, the Seals lead the NLL averaging 8.71 goals against per game.

“I know we say this every week but good things happen when we stick to the game plan and play our style of lacrosse,” said General Manager and Head Coach Patrick Merrill. “When we’re consistent, play a full 60 minutes and do what we do, we feel confident out there.”

Last time out, the Seals were able to hold Panther City to only four goals in a 10-4 win after a dominating second half in Texas. This was the second time the team held their opponent to only four goals, and the second straight game they’ve held their opponent to one second half goal. The win versus Panther City secured the season series against the West Division opponent.

Saturday’s game will feature Kings & Convicts beers two for $12 until supplies last. The first 3,000 fans entering the building will receive Seals trading cards presented by The Beef Checkoff. A special edition rookie pack will be offered to the first 500 fans on Saturday night. Tickets for the game are available at SealsLax.com.
