Game Preview: Mammoth vs Seals

It’s a battle for the West this weekend in San Diego as your first-place Seals welcome the second-place Colorado Mammoth to Pechanga Arena. This marks Colorado’s first and only trip to America’s Finest City.

The last time these two teams met, San Diego dominated Colorado in a commanding 13-4 win on the road. Goaltender Frank Scigliano and the Seals defense held the opponent to only four goals for the first time this season, little did we know they would go on to accomplish that feat two more times. All time, San Diego boasts a 6-1 against the division rival, chasing star goaltender Dillon Ward in five of the six meetings.

After dropping the matchup vs Albany, the Seals have gone on to defeat Calgary and Saskatchewan. San Diego hopes to extend the win-streak to three on Saturday night.

Saturday night’s game is a special night in San Diego as the team hosts Down Syndrome Awareness Night. Seals players (excluding goalies) will wear helmets designed by children with Down syndrome. The auction ends at 8:30pm on Saturday night. Auction winners who attend Saturday’s game will receive their game-worn items directly from the players.
