Game preview: Roughnecks vs. Seals

The San Diego Seals are back home at Pechanga Arena to take on the Calgary Roughnecks on Saturday night at 7:00 pm PT. This will be Calgary’s first of two trips to America’s Finest City for the 2021-22 season.

Top of the West Division, the Seals currently boast a 4-1 record with a four game win streak. Last time out, San Diego was victorious on the road in Saskatchewan in one of the most exciting wins in franchise history. With eight players on the COVID Protocol List, a 20 year old rookie goaltender and a rescheduled game, the Seals were able to hold on for a 13-12 victory against the divisional foe.

The Seals hope to keep the hot streak alive Saturday vs. Calgary. This will be the second of three meetings between the two clubs during the NLL’s regular season. Game one between the Seals and Roughnecks proved to be an exciting match with the Seals coming out on top. After San Diego jumped out to an early lead, Calgary was able to come back to pull the game within two goals but couldn’t complete the comeback. Former Roughneck Dane Dobbie netted a team-high seven goals against his former club. Forward Dane Dobbie currently sits atop the NLL’s stat leaders in goals scored with a league-high 18 goals.
