GAME PREVIEW: SAN DIEGO SEALS VS TORONTO ROCK

The San Diego Seals continue their Canadian road trip with a Saturday night showdown against the Toronto Rock at the FirstOntario Centre. The Seals will look to get back in the win column after dropping a feisty matchup with the Vancouver Warriors.

“You’ve gotta have a short memory in this league,” said General Manager and Head Coach Patrick Merrill. “We need to make adjustments from last week and focus on what’s ahead of us. This is a big game, against a good team, and we need to be ready for the challenge.”

This will be the third time San Diego and Toronto will face each other all-time, with the Rock taking the first two matchups. The Seals hope to snap the streak and take an important game on the road. This season, the team holds a 4-1 record as the away team. The game will feature a pair of NLL brothers facing off with both Jeremy Noble and Tor Reinholdt’s brothers suiting up in blue.

“It’s always a battle facing Toronto,” continued Merrill. “We have so much history between the two of us in our short-lived existence, it’s sure to be a good game. We need to focus on ourselves, our game plan and play with confidence for a full 60 minutes.”

With a win on Saturday night, the Seals could be the first team in the West Division to clinch a playoff spot. San Diego currently sits in first place in the West with a division-best 9-3 record. In the team’s inaugural season, San Diego hosted a home playoff game.

Fans in San Diego are welcome to join the Seals for a watch party at Woodstocks Pizza in Pacific Beach. Fans attending wearing Seals gear will receive pitchers of beers for only $9. Anyone unable to attend the watch party will be able to watch the game on ESPN2 and streaming on ESPN+. ESPN will stream all San Diego Seals games throughout the 2021-22 season.
