GAME PREVIEW: SAN DIEGO SEALS VS. VANCOUVER WARRIORS

The San Diego Seals will hit the road for the second week in a row to take on the Vancouver Warriors on Friday, March 17 at Rogers Arena. Faceoff is set for 7pm PT.

The Seals, who currently hold their first place spot in the Western Division, are coming off of a tight 12-11 win against the Saskatchewan Rush on March 11. The game saw several offensive highlights, including forward Dane Dobbie topping 500 career goals, as well as defenseman Patrick Shoemay and transition player Jesse Gamble netting their first goals of the season.

Additionally, defenseman and Captain Brodie Merrill moved to fourth all-time in games played with 269, surpassing Seals’ offensive coordinator Josh Sanderson.

The Warriors are also heading into Friday’s match with a recent win under their belt. The Warriors had an electric 14-5 victory over the Desert Dogs, one of their most solid performances of the season.

This is the second times the Seals have taken on the Warriors this season. The last time the two teams saw each other was January 7 at Pechanga Arena. The Seals came away with a 16-11 victory, with an impressive offensive performance contributing to the win: a pair of four goals, a hat trick, and eight points from Dobbie, forwards Austin Staats, Curtis Dickson and Wes Berg, respectively.

Heading into Friday’s game, Staats is currently three loose ball recoveries away from reaching 200 in his career.

Fans can cheer on the Seals on Friday for an official watch party at Carte starting at 6:30 pm. Be sure to show up in your Seals gear for 10% off your food bill and $10 valet parking.

The Seals return home to Pechanga Arena San Diego for Godzilla Night on March 25 as they take on the Buffalo Bandits at 7:00 pm PT.  Get your tickets for this monster-sized match as the Seals pay homage to King of the Monsters and pop culture icon, Godzilla, right here.
