JUNIOR SEALS UPCOMING EVENTS

With the regular season just around the corner, things are revving up in the local lacrosse community. Our very own Junior Seals have a slew of exciting events coming up that your kiddos won’t want to miss. Here’s everything you need to know about these future activities:

Girls Open House

A Girls Box Lacrosse Open House will be held at Knockaround Field (3500 Sports Arena Blvd.) on Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 6-7:30 p.m. This free event is open to girls between the ages of 8-15 and of all skill levels. Participants will be coached by Junior Seals Girls coaches, as well as some of our very own Seals players. This is an excellent opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends and get more familiar with the game of box lacrosse in order to become a more well-rounded player both in the box and on the field.

Orange County Open House

Calling all Orange County residents! The Junior Seals will hit I-5 North to host a free box lacrosse open house at the Victory Athletic Center in San Juan Capistrano on Friday, Nov. 18 from 6-7:30 p.m. This event is open to boys and girls of all skill levels, and will provide participants with the opportunity to learn the game of box lacrosse under the guidance of those who know it best: San Diego Seals players.

Winter Travel Team Tryouts

Want to join the Junior Seals Winter Team? Now is your chance! Tryouts will be held at Knockaround Field (3500 Sports Arena Blvd.) on Tuesday, Nov. 15 and Wednesday, Nov. 16. Info on age groups is as follows:

TUESDAY, NOV. 15:

Midget: 5 – 6 p.m.

Bantam: 6 – 7 p.m.

Novice/PeeWee: 7 – 8 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 16:

High School Elite: 5 – 6 p.m.

Girls Bantam/Midget: 6 – 7 p.m.

Winter Team Info: The Winter Team will hold weekly practice every Tuesday and Thursday (practice times vary based on age group) and will participate in two out of state tournaments: the Wasatch Invitational in Draper, UT (Jan 27-19, 2023) and the USBOXLA Winter National Tournament in Phoenix, AZ (Feb 3-5, 2023).

Winter Camp

The Junior Seals will be hosting a Winter Camp for both boys and girls ages 5-15 on Dec. 27th and 28th from 9 a.m.-3 p.m at the 4S Ranch Sports Park. Campers will be taught skills in both field and box lacrosse, and will be led by Junior Seals Girls Coaches and San Diego Seals players. Cost of attendance is $250 (a payment plan is available) and is open to skill levels ranging from rec to advanced. Four complimentary tickets to the Seals v. Warriors game on Jan. 7 will be given to all participants.
