SAN DIEGO ROYALS WIN BACK-TO-BACK NCBS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The San Diego Seals are proud to announce that the organization’s college team, the San Diego Royals, won their second straight NCBS (National Collegiate Box Series) Championship defeating the Connecticut Revolution by a final score of 9-3.

The San Diego Royals are coached by Seals players Cam Holding, Wesley Berg and Casey Jackson. The team is made up of local San Diego college players from high schools around the county including Cathedral Catholic, Torrey Pines, Santa Fe Christian, La Jolla High, Saint Augustine, Mira Mesa, Poway, La Jolla Country Day and The Bishops School.

After advancing to the championship game for the second straight year, the Royals dominated second-half play to secure the win. Torrey Pines alum Miles Botkiss netted five goals in the championship game, while Poway High alum Marquez White was the team’s backbone on both sides of the floor. The defense was led by Cathedral Catholic alum Peyton Rezanka and The Bishops School alum Oscar Hertz.

The Royals won their first NCBS championship last summer in their first year in the league, and went on to defend their title in their sophomore campaign. The NCBS is a proud partner of the National Lacrosse League.
