SAN DIEGO SEALS PARTNER WITH YMCA TO BRING YOUTH LACROSSE CLINICS TO LOCAL COMMUNITY

The San Diego Seals have joined forces with YMCA of San Diego County to significantly enhance access to the sport of lacrosse in under-resourced communities and the region as a whole. 

The weekly YMCA Junior Seals Lacrosse Clinics will begin in November, and will take place across participating YMCA locations around San Diego County. 

In conjunction with the Seals’ Jumpstart initiative, which aims to give all children the opportunity to learn about and gain access to the sport of lacrosse despite any obstacles or hindrances, clinics hosted at the Copley-Price Family YMCA and Jackie Robinson Family YMCA locations will be free for participants. 

The YMCA Junior Seals Lacrosse Clinics embody the shared mission of both organizations: promote a healthy, active lifestyle and give back to the community in meaningful ways. 

Clinics will be available to children ages 6-14. Age requirements of participants, as well as prices and program dates, may vary at each location. Equipment will be provided by the Seals and YMCA, and protective gear will not be required as clinics are non-contact and will use a softer ball. Participants do not need to be members of the YMCA in order to register. 

Experienced instructors will head each clinic, with occasional appearances by professional lacrosse players from the San Diego Seals.
