Toronto vs. San Diego: Game Preview

After opening the 2019-20 season on the road, the San Diego Seals head to Pechanga Arena to take on the Toronto Rock for the home opener on Saturday, Decemeber 14 at 7:00 PM.

“We’re very excited to be back on home turf,” said general manager and head coach Patrick Merrill. “We still have a sour taste in our mouths from our home playoff loss, but there’s no better place to play than San Diego and we’ve been looking forward to the home opener for a while now. We’re glad it’s finally here.”

The Seals dropped the season opener to the Buffalo Bandits in a game that came down to the final three minutes. The team looks to build momentum and get the first win of the season on Saturday night in front of the home crowd.

“Our first game obviously wasn’t the result we had hoped for,” continued Merrill. “I think there were a lot of positives we can take from Buffalo, but we’re coming out with a chip on our shoulder on Saturday. Our team played very well at home last season, and we’re looking to continue that trend this year.”

Newcomers Wesley Berg, Zack Greer and Jeremy Noble each netted two goals in the season opener. Berg’s six points, including his 100th career goal, led the Seals offense followed by a five-point effort from Greer.

“The fans are going to love watching guys like Wesley Berg and Zack Greer,” Merrill continued. “We match-up well against Toronto and look to give our fans a good show on Saturday night.”

This will be the first and only match-up between San Diego and Toronto in the regular season, and the Rock’s first trip to San Diego. Toronto fell to the New England Black Wolves in their first game of the season.

The Seals are proud to offer fans the Coronado Brewing Co. Party Pack for the home opener which includes two tickets and four beers for only $29. Get yours today!

Fans unable to attend the game on Saturday will be able to watch the game on FOX 5 San Diego and Síntesis TV. B/R Live – Turner’s live sports streaming service – will stream all San Diego Seals games throughout the 2019-20 season.
