The San Diego Seals have re-signed veteran defenseman James Barclay ahead of the 2025-26 NLL season. A Toronto native and Providence College alum, Barclay brings a physical, dependable presence to the Seals' back end.
Drafted 9th overall in the 2018 NLL Draft, Barclay has made stops with Rochester, Halifax, Las Vegas, and now San Diego, consistently proving himself as a gritty, shutdown defender. Known for his toughness and leadership, he’s logged nearly 100 professional games across the NLL, MLL, and PLL.
With his re-signing, the Seals secure a seasoned defender with playoff experience and a relentless edge, a key to bolstering their championship pursuit this season.
